History of Tuacahn High School
How it all Started
Tuacahn High School for the Performing Arts (THS) opened its doors for the first time on August 23, 1999 with just 86 students. As Utah's first charter high school, THS is an extension of the dream of the founders of Tuacahn Center for the Performing Arts. The school combines rigorous college preparatory program with intensive instruction in the performing and visual arts. Beginning with the academic year 2001-2002 Tuacahn expanded to Ninth grade students.

Tuacahn Today
Going into the 2018-19 school year enrollment will begin near 400 and we maintain a waiting list of students that would like to join us. While the majority of our students come from the Washington County area we attract students from all over Utah and beyond. To date, every graduating class at Tuacahn has sent over 85% of its members on to higher education. Though considered a Class 1A school, we compete at the Class 3A and 5A (theatre) divisions.
